Parents, we welcome and encourage your attendance at all student events and activities throughout the school year and encourage your active involvement in all aspects of our schoolwide program.

August:

• Aug. 10  --  All teachers report to their schools at 8:30 a.m.
• Aug. 11  --  All school personnel report to their schools and/or division planned in-service activities at designated locations.
• Aug. 12  --  All teachers report to their schools at 8:30 a.m.
• Aug. 15  --  School opens
• Aug. 16  --  Bus Evacuation Drills

September:

• Sept. 2  --  Picture Day
• Sept. 5  --  Labor Day (No School)
• Sept. 9  --  Fair Day (Students attend school first half of the day)
• Sept. 12  --  After-School Program begins
• Sept. 13  --  PTO Meeting in the school cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.
• Sept. 20  --  Sixth Grade Natural Resource Festival at Russell County Fair Grounds
• Sept. 22  --  Fourth Grade Agriculture Day at Russell County Fair Grounds
• Sept. 22  --  First six-weeks grading period ends
• Sept. 27  --  Special called PTO Meeting at 6:30 p.m. to plan the Fall Festival
• Sept. 29  --  Power Team Program for Gr. 5-7 at LHS (10:00-11:00)
• Sept. 29  --  Report Cards sent home

October:

• Oct. 3  --  Reptile Show at 2:15
• Oct. 4  --  Open House from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.;   At 6:00 p.m. there will be an Awards Program for students who scored a perfect score of 600 on any of the Spring 2011 Standards of Learning Tests.
• Oct. 11  --  PTO Meeting in the school cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.
• Oct. 15  --  Cleveland Elem. Fall Festival from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
• Oct. 19  --  4-H Share the Fun Contest at 1:00 p.m.
• Oct. 24  --  No After-School
• Oct. 25  --  Picture Retakes
• Oct. 28  --  Costume Contest at 1:30; classroom parties after the contest

November:

• Nov. 1  --  Second six-weeks grading period ends
• Nov. 8  --  Election Day (No School)
• Nov. 9  --  Report Cards sent home
• Nov. 11-17  --  Cleveland Elementary Book Fair
• Nov. 15  --  Family Night at the Book Fair
• Nov. 15  --  PTO Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria
• Nov. 17-18  --  County Forensics
• Nov. 18  --  4-H Share the Fun County Contest at Lebanon High School
• Nov. 23-25  --  Thanksgiving Holiday (No School)...Happy Thanksgiving!

December:

• Dec. 8  --  After-School Program Christmas Play
• Dec. 8  --  After-School classes end for the first semester
• Dec. 13  --  PTO Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
• Dec. 16  --  End of 3rd six-weeks grading period
• Dec. 16  --  Classes dismiss at 12:00 Noon
• Dec. 19-31  --  Christmas Holiday (No School)

February:

• Feb. 1  --  Baseball/Softball sign-up from 3:30-5:00 in the gym lobby

• Feb. 2  --  Spring Pictures

• Feb. 7  --  PTO Meeting at 6:30 p.m.  (Please note the date change.  Because of Valentine's Day the February PTO meeting date has been changed from the regularly scheduled second Tuesday of the month.)

• Feb. 7-8  --  VaCHIP (Child ID Program)

• Feb. 14  --  Valentine's Day  (class parties at 2:00 p.m.)

• Feb. 16  --  Soccer sign-up from 3:30-5:00 in the gym lobby

• Feb. 17  --  End of 4th six-weeks

• Feb. 17  --  Classes will dismiss at 12:30; teacher workday that afternoon

• Feb. 20  --  No After-School Program classes

March:

• Mar. 1  --  Spelling Bee at LMS

• Mar. 6  --  SOL Writing Test for Grade 5 (Multiple Choice portion)

• Mar. 8  --  SOL Writing Test for Grade 5 (Direct Writing portion)

• Mar. 13  --  PTO Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

• Mar. 19-21  --  School Accreditation Quality Assurance Review Team

• Mar. 19-20  --   All-County Choir practice at Cleveland Elementary

• Mar. 20  --   All-County Choir Concert at 6:00 p.m. in the Cleveland Elementary Auditorium

• Mar. 23  --  Cleveland Elementary Science Fair

• Mar. 24  --  Report Cards sent home

• Mar. 26-28  --  SOL Writing Field Test for Grade 5

• Mar. 27  --  NASA Dome Theater

• Mar. 28-29   --   Weigh-in for Pinewood Derby cars (3:30-6:30)

• Mar. 30  --  Rick Johnson Memorial Pinewood Derby Race at Cleveland Elementary

April:

• Apr. 4  --  Russell County Science Fair at Cleveland Elementary
