The Commissioner's office and his staff do a free service on Saturdays, as advertised, at their office in the Government Center by preparing  Federal and State taxes free of charge.

State Income Tax

State Income Tax forms are prepared for free in the office while the taxpayer waits. All that is required is a copy of the completed Federal form.

The Commissioner's office processes all State Income Tax forms that come through the county office.  They are sorted, information retained on regular returns, accelerated refunds processed through the computer, and all returns batched and sent to Richmond to be processed.
