Parent Registration for K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants Now Open through the VDOE

The Virginia Department of Education is now accepting applications from parents for tutoring grants for their children through the K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants program. The program was created to help Virginia families address the impact of the pandemic on student learning. If awarded, the grants will provide $1,500 to parents/guardians of students for tutoring in English, math, history, science and foreign languages. Grants may also be used for support services such as speech language pathology and reading interventions. Tutoring services can include in-person, online, and/or hybrid formats.

Homes where family incomes are 300% or less of the federal poverty level may qualify for $3,000 grants. Those students who receive an Individualized Education Plan or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Services may also receive a portion of the grant for assistive technologies as specified in the student’s IEP or 504.
