Kate is involved in her school and the community. She works with Honaker’s Men’s Club Youth Basketball and coaches the Youth Girls Volleyball teams. She Volunteers for the Honaker Little League and is part of Impact Youths Community Outreach Program. She was the winner of the WCYB Scholar Athlete of the Year and has a 4.0 GPA which is ranked 1st in her Senior Class. She was awarded the DAR Good Citizen Award for Honaker High School, the Woodman Life History Award & the Jefferson Book Award (UVA).

Honaker Football 13-1 Hogoheegee Champions, Region 1D Champions, and State Semifinalist, Broke many school and area records with their exciting air raid offense. The high octane offense averaged 43.8 points per game.

Aidan Lowe suffered a major leg injury (spiral fibula fracture) in the last game of his junior football season against Grundy in the first round of the Region 1D playoffs. After his surgery, he amazingly returned to play basketball before the end of his junior season and went on to have an outstanding senior year of football. He set school records and made 1st Team All State for Offensive All Purpose. His recovery time for such an injury even amazed his doctor.
